I've thought about getting those too, but something just feels a bit off about them. I also don't like that they don't have speed hooks at the top, but that's just cause I'm lazy.

Anyone handled the John Lofgren converse high tops from Self Edge?

Actually just yesterday. I was underwhelmed. I didn't inspect them closely, but at a glance they didn't strike me as a hell of a lot more robust than 1970s Chucks or JP Signatures. I'm sure they are better in lots of subtle ways, but not in any obvious ones.

I also saw that Nine Lives jacket in person and it is less impressive on a rack and more impressive when worn than I expected. Recent developments have made it a poor financial decision for me to get it, unfortunately, but when that is no longer the case I will be getting it for sure.

Assuming those have the same sole as the chelseas Mr. Porter carried, I'm not a fan of the sole. It looks weirdly cheap in person.
