Well I learned something today. Some of those Eton shirts have "Ganghester" in the description. At first, I thought that was a creative way of spelling gangster (or one of it's many variations), but really it's just a municipality in Sweden.

Well I learned something today. Some of those Eton shirts have "Ganghester" in the description. At first, I thought that was a creative way of spelling gangster (or one of it's many variations), but really it's just a municipality in Sweden.

The correct spelling is actually "Gånghester" (this will probably not show up correctly on everybody's screen, but the "a" is supposed to be an a with a dot over, pronounced in a similar way as the French would pronounce "au"). The name is old Swedish meaning young forest.

That concludes the Swedish language lesson of the day.

PS The word "gangster" exists in Swedish too. No doubt borrowed from English.
