I really like these. I asked my watch dealer about them and I got some speech about how they aren't real horology and it's a fashion watch. It is my understanding there actually is some quality horology involved unless I'm mistaken. I'm assuming he doesn't like them because they don't sell them.

Hermes owns 25% of the Vaucher movement company, it makes all the movements for Parmigiani - its sister company - and lots of movements for everyone from Richard Mille and Audemars Piguet to Gerald Charles. As the Sandoz family who own Parmigiani and Vaucher are trying to sell them (for the second time), I see Hermes as the only potential buyer.

Yes, they are a real watch company with some of the most creative models of the last few years; have you seen the Arceau L’heure de la lune? Or the Temps Suspendu?

As the month progresses, the time and date dials rotate together around the case, slowly obscuring and then revealing the moon phases in both the northern and southern hemispheres.

They really make some respectable, cool watches. Your watch dealer is either not that knowledgeable or just sour that he doesn't carry them. I've had people at watch shops say ridiculously inaccurate things about brands they don't carry. TBH, I'd had more respect for them if they simply said, "Oh that's a really nice brand. We don't carry them, but I could show you this which is anther great watch." Rather than make sh*t up in an effort to convince me what they have is better.

Anyone here have experience with stingray straps? How do they hold up vs other leathers and how supple are they?

Very durable. My friend had one on an AP Millenary Star Wheel years ago, and my dad had a stingray wallet. I don't think of it as particularly supple. Have you ever touched anything made of stingray. The outer surface feels stiff and has a pebble grain like feel. I'm not sure if its a strap that one does with very little or no padding, for fear if there is padding, it will be stiff as a board and never really mold to the shape of your wrist.

I’m not that much into watches and have no idea about movements etc. I just care about how the watch looks tbh. But also my understanding is that these are relatively well made and I see that this is also confirmed by the better educated forum members. For me H08 is a great looking watch and the design is a breath of fresh air in watches world. It goes well with casual clothes but surprisingly looks nice also with a suit. I own some other nice watches (e.g. Cartiers) but they rarely get any attention. This watch is being consistently noticed and complimented by watch enthusiasts but also by many random people I meet every day.
