    Oh wow, here my cobbler charges 2 euro per speed hook, so 16 eur to replace 8 eyelets for 8 speed hooks

    Where did you buy the Rannoch from and were you hit with import tax (since I think you live in Germany?) Also, what size do you wear in other (Cheaney lasts)? I wear UK 8 in most lasts, but need to size up to 8.5 for my Pennine boots (too short in the toe area otherwise).

    Thanks for the comparison pictures. That last number looks unfamiliar to me, and there is no mention of it on the Cheaney website site either. Maybe it is a custom last just for the Hoggs of Fife. They do look similar to Cheaney's 4436 last though, maybe a tad longer.

    Bick4 should leave the burnishing intact. I use it on my burnished and hand patinated shoes for that reason.
