    The Jefferson is a short wing while the Strand is a cap toe. It's most similar to the Mcallister rather than the Strand.

     They're on the 222 last. A little narrow but probably my best fitting shoes outside my Ridgeways. I have feet flatter than a sheet of plywood, so I can't speak to the high instep fit!

    The only JAB shoe made with the Poron insole is the Malone, which has no current AE equivalent.

    I have two pairs of AE LaSalles, and both have the poron insole. The Delrays have the normal, leather insole.

    I think it depends on your foot. I jump from an 8.0E in the 5-last on leather insole shoes, to an 8.5D on poron insole shoes due to the decrease in interior volume. I understand, this is not the case for everyone.

    I had the Chili LaSalle's, loved them. Great with business casual or chinos, even dressy jeans. They do have the poron insole, which I love as it's super comfortable, but some believe will decrease the useful life of the shoe.

    My lacing gap is narrower, but not to the point where I'd size down. I can fit either a size 8.5D or a 8.0E in the 5 last, and the 8.0E in the Ridgeway works fine. (I have tried the 8.0Ds, and they were too narrow for me.)

    I have the Ridgeways, and I believe those are the only major differences. The Ridgeway also has an orange sockliner, and all of the Ridgeways have the mini-lug sole.

    I have a couple pairs of BB Fifth Aves, and yes, I do get some slippage. I've had both for over 6 months now, it has not gotten better but it doesn't bother me much. No slippage on my Ridgeways or Park Aves (both 5 last).
