    Thoughts on Frye Walter boot?

I've had them for a bit now. I have some quality control issues but they're still "ok." I got them from shoemall with heavy discounts sub 200. If you're willing to pay full retail I would just save for the Aldens or the 1000 mile Courtlands.

The Watch Appreciation Thread (Reviews and Photos of Men's Timepieces by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Brei

I own a G-Shock and I love it. Would I wear it to work? Of course not. I wear it to the gym when I'm not using a heart rate monitor or any other place that wouldn't be suitable to wear something fragile as a nice watch. Some may argue that you can wear the Explorer II to active things...and...

The Watch Appreciation Thread (Reviews and Photos of Men's Timepieces by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Brei

I had the pleasure of attending a JLC/Govberg dinner this week. The watchmaker there, told me he loves the movement in my Dualtime/Hometime. I also drooled over the new Hometime Aston Martin edition. I wish I took some good pictures but the light was low and I was much too busy absorbing...

    Appeal of Panerai?

Nice piece Goodman! Romafan, I somewhat agree with you. My wrist is around 7.5 and I don't think I'd go larger than a 44mm. My brother was an early adopter in the Panerai movement and I didn't understand his infatuation...until I tried one on. I have four pieces, a new Exp II Polar, a JLC...

    Appeal of Panerai?

I really do think people love them or hate them. At first I didn't see the appeal, but the more you look at them, the more you appreciate a simple yet unique design. I don't think Panerai is for everyone and I think on some people it can look a little gaudy, but if the watch consumer feels...

Hey Stitches, I know you have a 112 too so you might like these: Here is the description: The MAT 49 Strap is made from Vintage French MAT 49 submachine gun magazine pouches. As far as I can determine, these pouches date from the mid 1950's to the early 1960's. (Greg Stevens)

Thanks for the compliment on the JLC No Frills! I own a Rolex that's more on the "fun" side. I think Rolex is a brand with the most recognition and sometimes for the wrong reasons. Most of the watch is brushed so it doesn't call attention to itself. It was calling my name for months before I...

    Thoughts on Frye Walter boot?

Hey DC! I got the boots. Excuse the pic as I was showing them off in the Watch Appreciation thread: Anyways, this is my first pair of boots and I have to say they're really comfortable. I wear a size 11 in dress shoes and went with the same size for these boots. They are really...

The Watch Appreciation Thread (Reviews and Photos of Men's Timepieces by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Brei

Let's get back to what this thread is supposed to be about, "watch Appreciation." Check out this shot of my Explorer II with my new boots! They're Alden replicas, but I figure Frye supposedly makes a good pair of boots. Marvin, having thick wrists is a blessing in my book. I disagree with you in...
