Overpriced, maybe? To be honest for a no-name brand with nothing special about leather and construction they’re on the pricey side, no? I mean, they’re more expensive than Carminas or C&J (completely different styles, obvs).

Blake/ rapid construction for ~$500 seems reasonable to me.

Also, if you want that sleek style, you can't have Goodywear welting. That would make the sole look a bit chunkier.

I like those, but 1) there's a seemingly weird shade of pink to that color? Not sure if that color is accurate in the photo

2) That company often distresses their toeboxes, which IMO loos not ideal

From a company called Project TWLV. I randomly found them a couple of months ago, but have no direct experience with the brand. Someone PM'd me a couple of weeks ago and said they bought a pair recently and like them for the price

https://www.projecttwlv.com

I forget who said this, but my understanding is that you can basically un-distress the toebox with a suede brush and a little patience.

Hard to say about the color. I basically like the way it looks on my phone screen, but who knows how they look IRL.

You should see if you can still find the RG x CP side zip in sand. Is perfect !!

I actually tried those out and didn't care for them. Something about them was pretty uncomfortable (I forget exactly what; it was a while ago), and there was this weird sagging effect near the base of the zipper that bugged me (probably something that most people don't notice or don't mind).

My journey to find a black derby is over. I have been looking for a well-built black derby for months in the 350$ range and have not found anything desirable.

I just got these in from Rider Boot Company, and they are great. Fit TTS for anyone interested.

Undercover rider - sheepskin or cowhide?
If it’s the same color and style, I would’ve gone with lambskin/sheepskin because it’s much soft and mold to the body much better. Cowhide is much stiff and tougher. I haven’t held any of the pieces, but generally speaking from my knowledge of leather

Yeah that sounds about right. I was mainly worried about durability of lamb. People tend to say it gets wrecked in rain and only lasts a few years?

I’m not too sure, might be true. My friend have bodaskin leather jacket for few years and it seems still in good condition.

About those Project TWLV boots, the zip placement is a mistake. The stitching at the bottom of the zip will get stretched and look terrible. The leather edges at the bottom of the zip will also get all wrinkled and chafed. Then the zip and/or the stitching will fail and it will be very hard to do an inconspicuous repair job. This is my prediction based on observing lots of British motorcycle boots with the same zip location. (And they probably have much tougher thread and zips than these fashion boots.) If you want a zip at the back of the heel like that, it really needs a strap to take the strain and hide the wear and tear. Google for pics of Lewis Leathers Motorway boots to see what I mean.

Cowhide unless you live in a very cold climate and you're ready to deal with the maintenance costs of sheepskin. Stuff is expensive to clean, although you only need to do it once every few years. It also wears pretty warm, which, depending on where you live, may not be practical.

I can see it work with some outfit, but maybe try something more trendy like vintage ski jacket made by North face Colombia, etc. it have a lot of color, it feel more balanced compare to the Tommy, but that’s depends on you.

I kinda like it, but it has to be styled in really specific '90s way to look good, I think. And definitely not like that.

Also, if you're going for that '90s Tommy Hill/ Polo/ Nautica colorblock look, I think vintage 90s RL would be 10000x better.
