I personally prefer Nova to Ron. Ron is extremely narrow on the toes, and while on unlined loafers it can be ok (a little too snug maybe), on lined loafers with structured toe it can be painful.

Nova has a more realistic shape, highly recommended.
Did you get the same size in Nova as in Ron?

Meermin seems like a very good deal sadly they currently don't seem to be doing a standard brown penny loafer and a normal brown derby

Hello,

I am sharing these photos hoping that some of you had the same situation with some Meermins and can let me know if and how I can solve it.
Only the front part of the heels are touching the ground when they stand alone. If I push the heels to have 100% contact with the ground, the front of the boots rises.
When I try them, I feel that the heels are pushing on my feet exactly in the front of the heels.
The whole construction seems to be wrong in my eyes.
Wrote this to Meermin, they’ve replied “
We have carefully reviewed the images you sent. Based on our assessment, we do not observe any visible defects or misalignment between the heels and the front of the boots.”

I have few pairs of Meermins but none of them with this kind of issue.

Will Meermin admit that it’s an issue?

Thank you!

Request a refund because you have carefully considered their email reply.

I bought a pair of horsebit at the last Meermin sale.
There are 9UK (my usual size). Lenght are perfect but they are very very narrow in right shoe.
My feet are not wide, but Meermin are very narrow (worse with socks).
Do you think they will be wider with use at home? I can use them without socks, but I use invisible socks with loafers in spring or summer.

They will NOT. Tried it with 3 pairs of Meermins and it failed every single time.

Just received these hand welted wholecuts. I’ve quite a high instep, so got these gaps at the lacing, how likely are these to close up enough to look ok? I’ve read wholecuts do tend to stretch more, any truth to that? These are on the Dani last, 8.5, I feel sizing up they’d be too long, so not sure whether to keep or return

Unfortunately I have been experiencing the worst customer service experience ever from Meermin Shoes. I ordered a pair of loafers online from their website. The shoes arrived and were a half size too small. So I exchanged them for a half size up. I had to pay $15 dollars for shipping on the exchange. When my ‘new’ exchanged shoes arrived there were defects. I was requested to return this pair for another exchange. Ten days later I received an email from their shipping/billing department that in order for me to receive my exchange I would have to pay another $15 dollars for shipping fees. That would mean that in order to receive the correct size and undamaged I would have to pay $30 above the retail price as listed on their website!

On top of this, it’s been extremely difficult communicating with their shipping dept. At first they seemed to have a hard time understanding that I’d requested an exchange for my loafers, not a refund! To receive an acknowledgment of this took weeks!I have contacted their only retail location in the USA (Soho NYC) for assistance. All of the salesmen that I interacted with were understanding, courteous and professional. They too seemed bewildered as to what had transpired.

Simply put, dealing with this company via online has been an ordeal!

I want to give Meermin unlined loafers a shot. I like their designs and other alternatives are not in my budget or don't carry unlined loafers.
How is the Nova last compares to Morjas in terms of sizing?
Hi SteveMc, I’m not familiar with the differences between these lasts. I did recently purchase a pair of their light blue suede loafers on the white rubber sole. Meermin’s recommended going down a 1/2 size. This didn’t work for me, much too tight. I exchanged this for my true Brannock size and they fit fine. The last is a bit narrow fitting and it’s taking some time for these loafers to break in.
Despite my issues with their online customer service & shipping department, I stand by Meermin’s quality & excellent value to quality ratio.

Thanks @Sinyo18. You're talking about the Nova last right?
