Tried Beit Rima today after a round at Lands End and short nap at GGP in the garden and grassy area beneath the windmill. Not too sunny but warm enough today. The fog really hit the area hard. I don’t mind it but gf prefers the sun.

Beit Rima was delicious and some different flavors for a unique experience. Got there in time to get a seat inside before it got really crowded. Chicken and lamb plate. The lamb was great. No left overs today. Already thinking about ordering from their left side of the menu tapa style next time. Maybe that plus their hanger steak for the protein.

I live pretty close to one of their locations and have been a few times with the family, but not in a few years. This is a good reminder to check it out again!

At least its not 'Frisco
Debatable.

from the article:
San Franciscans despise the term “San Fran,” with Wiener writing that the nickname is “upsetting” and “intolerable.” In his letter, Wiener says even the nickname “Frisco” is preferable — but acceptable only for “deeply authentic San Francisco natives.”

As for who is “deeply authentic,” Wiener specified: “If you don’t know whether you are in this category, then you are not.”
According to one Urban Dictionary entry for San Fran, the nickname is “the most annoying way possible to refer to the City of San Francisco. Even more annoying than calling it Frisco.”
I didn't grow up in the city so I guess I don't feel authentic enough to say Frisco. One interesting thing about referring to this place is that how I answer the question "where do you live" depends more on what I know about the person I'm talking to and where we are.

Outside the state, I tend to say California but sometimes I say the west coast if I think I'm talking to an anti-CA person.

If I'm talking to someone from socal or tahoe, I will say the bay area.

If I'm talking to someone in or from Marin or the peninsula or, shudders, the east bay, I say the city or SF.

If I'm talking to someone in the city I will say my neighborhood or "near Golden Gate Park."

A lot of the time now I'm talking to randos for work on zoom and I have to sort of make judgment calls on the fly. Saying you live in the city to someone outside the bay area is pointless so I tend to say San Francisco with those people unless they go first and self-identify as bay area residents.

x-posting in a couple of threads to reach more folks. Thanks for your understanding.

For folks in the Bay Area, we are working on a meetup over the next month or so (date TBD) at Tailor's Keep in Palo Alto. You can read more in this post. Please respond to the post in the San Francisco Area Members thread if you are interested.

Frisco is what the black and brown folks who (too often used to) live here call it. I’m down with it. San Fran is gross. It just comes off cringe laziness. :)

Just here for the debate. I'm coming back someday!
Better hurry before Trump is elected. We might have to close the state borders
