And now you see why I passed. Had it been a full suit's worth I'd have grabbed it, like I did some of the other cool things on that site.
There is always something nice around the corner. I saw some nice Lovat pieces as well.
But I have so many other hobbies that I could spend my whole fortune on that I had to pass on everything.
I recently was looking into new speakers for my hifi system, and it quickly became very very expensive hahaha. I also like to collectwatches etc. etc. the list is too long.
Sometimes I envy people that have one single life fulfilling hobby, because I need 20+ to get by.
And all of them are fighting for my wallet:)

thats what i’ve found with old pieces, there’s usually only very little left and what is left its quite hard to squeeze garments out of. Although, very old tailors usually can get things out of very little cloth.

The other day, lots of old sportex popped up on ebay by a charity shop and it all got snagged up by they were all striped bunches and around 2-2.5ms

Just the two greys and the navy. It's deadstock

And now you see why, though I was only going to buy the light grey to begin with, I went ahead and grabbed both.
Just arrived. Much more royal/French blue than I had expected, with less grey. But it might end up also looking fantastic in the evening, especially under artificial light. We shall see. For next winter at the earliest!

Now that I have a second look at the web pics, I should not have been so surprised. Anyway, they might well have gauged the perfect transition from day to evening.

I think that's a fair assessment. I also found the blue more vibrant and less variegated than expected, though I'll see about when I'm having it made up. I just ended a decade of abstinence with respect to cloth and custom clothes and things, so I'm looking forward to giving it a shot.

Very much analogous to #8 Cordovan. And a good companion for it.

A fair bit of color in sunlight, fades to very dark and distinguished at night.

I think that's a good perspective to take. It's not immediately captured photogenically, but there are ways in which it seems versatile through direct interaction.
