I would, but they look almost identical now. The LWBs were less red out of the box, but I added burgundy cream polish to make them more red. The Diesels were as red out of the box. Both aren’t as red as oxblood or burgundy, just a subtle reddish hue in the brown.
Ok thanks.

I really should stop posting and thinking about brown reddish tone boots. I already bought a pair of AE in dark chili. Just have been waiting for 6 weeks and I am getting impatient. LOL !

Unglazed honey shell loafers (excuse the orange socks haha).
  1. Preordered in May, received at end of September.
  2. Ordered half size down (same as Alden barrie last). Only tried on the chocolate suede loafers previously.
  3. Break in was a little tough due to high instep and less stretching from shell; wore for little bit at a time in the office to break it in
  4. Added flush metal toe taps from B Nelson ($45+) with less than week turnaround; can already see that I'm wearing it down with mostly office wear (rough on toes)

Some thoughts after two days of wear:

The sole is very comfortable. I like it better than dainite (or GS version). Haven’t gotten to test the traction, but looks like it will be good. The heel is rather prominent but the rest is quite low profile. In fact, I’d like it if this sole made its way on to more boots replacing the current rubber sole.

These boots really look great. Almost too good for a “work” boot. I’m sure you can do work in these, but they look too nice. This isn’t complaining, mind you. But I’d still opt for my Dune Diesels if I’m going to be beating on them. Would rather keep these nice. That said, a more rugged-looking leather would be nice on this pattern, perhaps either Dune or Waxed Tobacco. Kudu would also be nice.

I was surprised at the unlined tongue. I don’t think it looks as nice, but it is comfortable. Normally I find the shaft takes a while to break in, but these are super flexible right off the bat.

As far as fit goes, hard to say as I don’t have any 9.5E Diesels or Ottawa’s. It’s not quite as wide as the 8.5EEE Leo but close. It works for me, but it’s a little long. Would definitely prefer if they release EEE in this last.

Based on what I have heard from others, and from my own experience, the GS "Studded Sole" is as stiff as the Dainite one. I find them both uncomfortable because they have no "give". Glad to hear this new lugged rubber sole is more comfortable.

I would be really interested in a traveler penny loafer in scotch grain. Especially on some kind of low profile rubber sole. I think it would look particularly cool in black

The GS dirty buck is a surprisingly versatile shoe. I thought it would just be a summer shoe but I wear it all the time with slacks and a sportcoat. It really works well with a lot of different outfits.

Stylistically, the point of a "dirty" buck, it is to be worn the rest of the year when one cannot wear a white buck which is meant to be worn "in-season" (aka memorial day to labor day).
