I'm looking for input for those that own an Oxford/Balmoral boot with a combination of 2 leathers. I'm trying to figure out what I prefer, if darker tones below or above (shaft), if plain and suede or grain and suede...or plain and grain. So anyone with some photos to share would serve of great inspiration.
I'll start with a pair that I liked and almost got, but wasn't too sure if it's what I wanted. Trying to figure it out so much appreciated for anyone's input.
Also, do you feel this is an "older looking" style? View attachment 1940669 View attachment 1940671 View attachment 1940675 View attachment 1940677
Pros of wearing these to work: being able to sit in meetings and smell the rich oak bark-tanned leather odor waft up every time I cross and re-cross my legs.JFJ Baker Russian grain austerity boot FTW

I have, thanks. Not that many examples but still very helpful. I just wanted to open a discussion as I I haven't been able to make up my mind. Most times I would agree with Crafty on the high contrast comment. i don't own a combination boot...yetHave you seen this thread?
Balmoral Boot Appreciation
EG Shannon, 82 last. I don't think I have ever been quite so besotted with a pair of RTW (or, really, MTO) shoes as I am with these. Sorry for the half-assed shine. What can I say; I'm no sysdoc. Any shoe geek who does not have a pair of these (ahem, ap, jc, rh) is a disgrace to shoe geekdom.www.styleforum.net
With all of the boots I have from Carmina to Edward Green, Gaziano & Girling, and St Crispins and a good number more my Islay’s are still one of my favorite pair of boots.Chilling with the C&J Islays at work... such great boots!
Color 8s? Regardless they're gorgeous. I have a pair of cap toe Alden shoes in color 8 that I love. Great footwear. Take care!Alden Chukka’s covered in pollen
