Some photos from my 10th anniversary trip with wifey in the country side.

Moon tweed sc, donegal trousers, Y polo, and EG Galways.

Booked a BnB and returned to the restaurant at Patowmack farm. We went there for our 1 year anniversary, nine years ago. Still have our printed menu from that day.

Had a nine course meal and had to be rolled out afterwards.

The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm is a true gem! I feel like it doesn’t get mentioned enough among the lists of top restaurants in the area. Congratulations to you and the missus!

I’m dying to try the reopened Reverie in Georgetown.

Any love for Perry's?
Perry's is getting a lot of great press recently but didn't make the list. I'm not a huge fan of Japanese restaurants not because I don't like the food, but because my amateur palate cannot tell the difference between a good restaurant and a great one. There isn't going to be that much variance in sushi so long as the fish is fresh and from a good vendor and the rice used is the correct one.

Agreed. It’s changed chefs since we last went so the menu has evolved to where it’s fused with Japanese cuisine since the chef trained at Japanese restaurants prior. Still a divine dining experience regardless

I used to frequent Perry's primarily for their rooftop. I think I've eaten their sushi once but don't remember it standing out one way or another.

Re May 9, I would like to come but preferably for an appetizer (oysters) and couple of drinks. I will keep an eye out for any pre/post dinner updates so I can say hello before you're seated or winding down the night.

Fair enough, my wife and I like going to Perry’s and Lapis just to get away from the Arlington restaurant scene. The quality of food has gone down at our normal hangout spots.

Fair well!

My wife’s grandfather lived aboved those. She has fondly mentioned them a few times. I showed her the article and photos. She got nostalgic and want to see them one last time. Apparently John McCain lived there too. She recalls bumping into him a time or two there.

It was always kind of weird down there. Crystal City would have been more vibrant if all the shops were on street level.

We looked at apartments there a while back but didn’t like the area much.

Is that the mall that has the ritz connected to it? Also has (had) Nordstrom.

That's Pentagon City. Crystal City is one stop away. Nothing but hotels, apartment buildings, and offices there. Very depressing.

Where are your normal hangout spots? As I mentioned, Reveler's Hour is very good. Namak is a Mediterranean restaurant next door to Perry's that just opened. It's well worth a visit.
