Ordered when Palo Alto store opened, they had some issues with the first and second build, these arrived today.

I don't know the Vibram Lug name, but agree w Peppercorn, it is solid and durable.  Ask for the older Long Branch sole, before the gumlite, they still offer it.

It happens. I've come to expect issues and accept that they'll fix it.

Well.....the red Neumok 2.0 was returned. I can't think of anything that you could wear with them. But gents get ready for wild color in AE shoes. It's coming.

Clearly you weren't thinking outside the box, good sir.

Are we expecting them from you or is AE launching a new color? Both seem plausible

Clearly the 1776 was made for that. I can't really talk though, I have several pairs of America-themed Chubbies shorts. Actually, almost all of my shorts are Chubbies... That, and I bought an American flag fleece bomber hat a couple days ago on a whim. Because

Merlot McAllister Monday:

Also, just got shipping confirmation for my brown Verona II's, AND over the weekend I found a ridiculously good deal on NIB black Grayson firsts, so hopefully I'll see those soon as well.

I picked up Bourbon Cornwallis and Strand in the bourbon sale, but not sure if I want to keep them. The burnishing in the toes on the Cornwallis are uneven. 1 shoe has more burnishing covering the toe more than the other shoe. If I polish it out, could I even this out or this black burnishing hard to rub off? The strand burnishing on the vamp area is a bit uneven. It looks "splotchy". Would this also even out over time? Also the captoe has 2 "splotches" of black burnishing. If they were seconds, I would most definitely keep. But for First, I'm thinking of sending them back.
That is disappointing. Here are my Bourbon Cornwallis and the toes are burnished uniformly. Yeah, you deserve better and should get a new pair / redone.

Wow.

There's a black Harrison (Indy) on shoebank for $127 in a 9D.

I have never seen an Indy priced like that. Hopefully someone on here can take advantage.

Absolutely.... depending on your comfort level with leather dye. Actually less intimidating than it might sound, but a good amount of research is in order if you've never done anything like that before.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
