What should I wear as a wedding guest?

Just get the navy, doesn’t matter if it’s tame as the wedding isn’t about you. If you don’t have a good pair of shoes yet then get a good pair of black, burgundy or dark brown; the exact colour and style may be influenced on what you exactly plan on using them for for, predominantly.

If that’s the style that you’re looking for, then I’d say that $218 is a pretty good deal. I have a few pairs of allen edmonds and have been quite happy with them. That being said, wearing them everyday isn’t the best from a longevity standpoint.

    New Need Navy Suit

To add to Patrick's comments, which are consistent with my experiences with Indochino, I also just found the tailoring to be pretty clunky/clumsy (ie, base model that's used for their suits). Combine that with the inferior quality, hassle of dealing with remakes etc... it's not worth throwing my...

I have and have no plans of ever purchasing from them again. Just stick with Spier and Mackay.

Formal Style Advice Needed - Tux for Wedding

Probably best to post this question in the official wedding thread. But to my eye, it looks too trendy for my tastes, and looking like Bond has nothing to do with it; it’s just not a proper tux. There are quite a few options if you’re looking for a more classic/proper look. Just depends on what...

It looks pretty casual to my eye. From what I’ve read, you might want to look into getting an overcoat or topcoat (which you could also dress down if you wanted). Spier and Mackay has some you can check out that are quite well priced and the reviews have been very high for their quality.

    First sportscoat/most versatile sport coat

Not entirely sure to be honest. I have stuff from both and haven’t noticed too much of a difference. That being said, S&M is quite a bit less than SS so I’ve been buying from the former lately because of that.

    First sportscoat/most versatile sport coat

I would say either could be fine, although it would depend on the boldness of the pattern for windowpane, as Viral has already noted. Also, herringbone and gun check are other patterns that are quite common and would be useful for you. If your budget is SS, then I would recommend taking a look...

    First sportscoat/most versatile sport coat

I’d agree that brown is a good choice. But if your talking about versatility, then I’d be going with a darker colour. That being said, you could argue that you don’t really need something that versatile since you already have navy and grey covered.

That’s awesome. I have them in merlot, pretty similar as far as I can tell, and it’s been my go-to shoe for general suit wear. Love it for it’s versatility.

Yeah, that or your original idea of a burgundy cap toe would also be very versatile as well.

I’m 5’7” also and have found that I have to take a regular in s&m (I wear a 38s in other brands).

So, just out of curiosity, then, is the prometeo just a slightly smaller/tighter version of the grossa? Tried to google it but nothing really useful came up in that regard.

Maybe check out spier and Mackay? I don’t remember the cost for mtm off hand but it’s a pretty good deal from what I remember reading in the affiliate thread.

For myself, it's also all of the buttons (white oxford as well). It has gotten better over time but you'd be surprised how much work is required for me to put my shirt on or off.

Yeah, the answer is the same for both guys: a four in hand is totally fine for either of them. A half Windsor would likely be fine (and I was having a little fun with my comparisons as they’re from a movie); I just don’t want you pulling a Shannon Sharpe with a full.

A Sam (and David) Hober Tie Appreciation Thread

@Captain Waffles honestly, I can’t remember at all which was the best, sorry man. Don’t go any narrower; you’ll have invested a lot of money on ties that will go out of style relatively quickly and be rendered useless. It defeats the purpose of spending that much to begin with, on ties of that...
