What exactly is the justification for the long-sleeved version being almost $300? Because this Americana workwear horseshit is hot right now?

So maybe the better way to look at it is that you're getting a massive discount on the short-sleeved version.

The 19th Century BD (long sleeve) versions are Single Needle, which increases the cost. I don't recall if the short sleeve versions (popover or camp shirt?) are Single Needle too, but if not then that could be the dramatic difference in price. The $275 sticker price is also normal for the 19th Century BD. The stitching pattern for the tuille is even more work put into the piece.

Has anyone tried on the polka dot ground jacket? I'm thinking of proxying one from JP if Nepenthes is out (do they do phone orders?) But I've learned that measurements on some of the JP sites can be hit or miss.. From the measurements on silver&gold, it looks like it fits pretty roomy, so I might size down to a M from my usual L.

I'm also wondering if anyone's experienced shrinkage in width on work shirts with a dryer cycle?

True but they've been doing Single needle tailored shirts for less before.

FW10's Single Needle 19th Century BD's were around the same price, if not slightly more expensive depending where you got them (Bloomie's had them at $290 IIRC). Maybe a year or two ago they were $250, but with labor and material costs increasing this price isn't surprising.

I have one from S/S '10 that was $239 and a 19th Century Flannel from F/W '09 that was $245... I prefer where the last button drops on the 19th over the Work shirts.. They are my ideal "imma have a big ass meal" shirts.. I wouldn't be surprised either if prices continue to climb..

Do you guys recommend sizing down for the cream polka dot work shirt this season? I did not purchase any work shirts last season but I am typically a medium with a 40 chest. Context's measurements have the p2p measurement of a medium at 21.5. Thanks

Wow! Yeah, I suppose I would based on those measurements. I'm usually a S, but I'd have to go with an XS in that shirt. I wonder why they cut them so much fuller.

Yeah, I was surprised as well. Also, Inventory has the measurement at 21. I am probably going with a small this time. However, my medium work shirt from s/s 2010 is a 21. Decisions, decisions....

Uh I don't think you should size down. Someone else agreed with my statement that these are the slimmest fitting workshirts. Have to imagine other people have picked up SS11 shirts so feel free to chime in. My chest is around 37" and I can't imagine you not hulking out in a small if your chest is 40
