What to do when shirt sleeve covers your watch?

Should you tuck part of the sleeve underneath the watch so it always shows? Or just let the watch remain covered?

Most people do the latter. Some important style icons, notably Gianni Agnelli, do the former. I guess do whatever you like, although leaving the watch under the shirt sleeve is much more common, so putting the watch over the shirt sleeve is likely to be seen as an affectation.

Let it be covered, unless you're a pilot, racecar driver or scuba diver. Otherwise you risk looking like you are trying desperately to show your watch off.

I vote 'cover it'. I recently got a nice(r) new watch (despite being warned against it) that I haven't figured out how to work it, so that it will occasionally stop. Having it covered saves you the embarassment of a friend or stranger pointing out that your fancy new watch has the wrong time/isn't working

Diver watches and the like worn under a dress shirt look extremely out of place, and bad.

Most dress watches will fit under the cuff of an OTR dress shirt.

In short, if you have this issue you're probably coordinating your outfits wrong.

Watches are not usually meant for fashion. Watches are meant for timekeeping. That said, there are beautiful watches and there are ugly watches, and everything in between. A beautiful watch would fit under your shirtsleeve. A gentleman would display it subtly.

This is the correct answer.^
Summarily, a chunky watch is worn casual or dress casual but not dress. Roll up your sleeve if you must or wear short sleeves.

I don't like for a watch to show when wearing a suit. More often than not though, I notice guys with watches that stick out from their wrists like carbuncles for all the world to see.
