Do these shirts look too big, or is that what they are supposed to look like?

The other day I was scrolling through instagram and I came across a lot of asian celebrities / models( 1 2 3 4) wearing clothes that fit completely differently from what was recommended on the internet in general and are basically breaking every single fashion rule that is advocated on the subreddit called r/malefashionadvice. The pictures are all showing super loose sleeves, baggy torso, shoulder hem is way past the shoulder bone, etc.

Is slightly oversized clothing on men just the latest trend these days or does it only look good on a specific body type? The other day I was trying on a few pieces from Zara (5 6 7 8 9) and I noticed most of their shirts are also slightly oversized.

yes this is the trend -- not just slightly oversized but often quite oversized. I don't think we're there yet in seeing this look in conservative workplaces though, at least not in the US.

Allowing for the fact that the pendulum will inevitably swing back in the other direction, to me this is far more flattering to a range of body types than the tight and short silhouette that was favored in tailored clothing for the past 10-15 years.

But if your goal is something more along the lines of 'classic tailored menswear' always fine to stay in the 'safe' zone even if it means you're not trendy.
