Is it my imagination or are there fewer awkward fits in this thread than maybe 2-3 months ago? People are looking better. Maybe the improvement stems from the fact that I stopped posting fit pics in here haha

Kappelan those cargos are heinous. It looks like you have full colostomy bags on your thighs.

The fit of ESF shirts is horrible if you are in any way athletic. They are too tight in the shoulders/chest/arms and far too loose in the waist for my Adonis-like physique.

This. I bought an ESF once. Shoulders and chest were too narrow, while the waist was huge. I don't get what their target niche was.

Thanks. That's nothing special suit jacket from some Italian noname. Bought it in Europe many years ago.

It's not just that, but also all that folding and creasing in the crotch makes it look like he has his dick in a pouch or something.

Yeah, I might return them. Believe it or not, I'm 5'8 and only 145 lbs with decently low body fat. Not adonis (or even close), but I do play tennis three times a week and just finished a round of P90X.

The Brooks Brothers shirt makes me look 30lbs heavier. I guess I'm just going to have to start trying Barba/Finamore/Borrelli from Shop The Finest. I've been scared to do so because I hate ordering things without trying them on, but clearly the ESF's don't work well.

For those that asked, the shoes are Santoni Fatte e Mano. They are my favorite boots I own - I'm thrilled with them. Great construction, beautiful channeled sole, and ultra comfortable.

Fiddle with MTM before you get into high-end shirts. You don't know what you want from shirts yet, no point in spending huge $$$ on expensive brands yet. Getting a few MTM shirts and tweaking them to your liking will give you a pretty good idea of how you'd like your shirts cut in just a few months.

Solid advice. The problem with diving right into expensive shirts (aside what Ace has said) is that you will start seeing small details in expensive shirting (collars, materials, hand finishing, buttons, whatever) and then when you realize where the fit is off you'll want all the bells and whistles in MTM/bespoke. Then your wallet is fucked.

I personally cannot figure out a reason to buy the ESF shirts. They are 3" trimmer in the chest and only 1" trimmer in the waist than the SF shirts. To me, it seems like if you are going to slim down the chest, you ought to slim down the waist an equal amount.

If you aren't happy with the shirts you bought, you could try taking them to a tailor. $15 or so to slim the shirts isn't bad, and it would help you to figure out how you actually want your shirts to fit.
