Gentlemen, you are cordially invited to take part in this week's Friday challenge:- The KNIT or GRENADINE NECKTIE Friday Challenge 20th June 2014 In this challenge please don a Knit or Grenadine NECKTIE with the nonchalance befitting these boards. You are given free rein to dress it up or dress it down if you wish. Once again there is scope here so, essentially, another freestyle challenge!

By definition a tie, of course, is obligatory! Challenge details: Submissions must be posted by 1800hrs GMT Saturday 20th June 2014. All submissions are to have been worn week beginning 16th June 2014. The poll will go up directly on Saturday evening GMT and close on Sunday (midnight) 22nd June 2014. For the summary post, I will use only one picture per entrant and will therefore choose your first offering. May the best fit win! Your runners and riders are:-
A rare contribution from me in the challenge thread, grenadine time...

:D Hope you like it.

From my selection of two knit and zero grenadine ties, then - a debut in these pages, today's tie (from Thomas Farthing, London).
A Drakes grenadine with a slight pull. I'll to have to fix that, but let's just call it extra sprezz for now:
Some neat-o stuff in the thread already. Let's add a green knit:
Great challenge, @Cleav ! I imagine there will be tons of entires, and the ones so far have been outstanding. Here's mine:
Polo/Kamakura/KentWang/Drakes/TaylorStitch/Meermin
Opted to go with a knit and pair it with similarly casual items (unstructured/unlined jacket, OCBD, chambray pants and suede loafers).
I need to up my photo efforts. Oh, well...

So I heard there was a knit tie challenge on....

Blazer - Herringbone Sydney Shirt - Kamakura Tie - Henry Carter x Sozzi PS - Henry Carrter Macclesfield Trou - Grey flannel Shoes - Meermin
A bit nippy in this part of the world, hence the pseudo 3-piece.

Suit Shop / Ascot Chang / Brioni / Christian Kimber / Uniqlo / St Crispin's x The Armoury
My favorite Grenadine Garza Grossa from Exquisite Trimmings:
Thanks, mate! Ok, I'll admit I cheated: I only wore this fit this morning, before we went out for the birthday party. So feel free to ignore my entry if it's not by the rules.
Since I am not in the office on Friday this week, this will be my entry. My usual bad PhotoBooth photos, but since this is all about the tie, it doesn't matter so much... Deets: nicely wrinkled Isaia fine navy and white stripe cotton summer suit*, CT shirt in large sky gingham, pale yellow and navy w. sky blue Corneliani silk knit tie, vintage silvertone tie bar, standard white cotton hank. Not seen: Bally mid-brown leather and beige woven cotton shoes, blue and white socks.
LL
*which now fits perfectly thanks to my being on my way to getting back into shape for competition - I've lost 3.5kg over the last year (or around 8lbs) I look at last year's shots wearing this suit, it looks uncomfortably tight. I think I was wearing it more in the hope that it should fit me rather than that it actually did... I was also wearing this earlier in the week, which would also have qualified: Pal Zileri Abito Privato brown suit with blue pinstripes, blue CT shirt, silver RLPL silk knit tie, vintage green-edged yellow silk PS. Unseen: vintage silver David Andersen tie bar, chestnut Stemar v-tips, brown Mazarin socks.
Caruso wool cotton jacket with suede elbow patches HY pants Hemrajani end on end Panta striped shantung grenadine

I have been disconnected from SF for a few weeks concentrating on writing while the usual interruptions of academic life subside over the summer, but I noticed on Cotton Dockers tumblr that the challenge was knit tie and I'm wearing one today, so here it is. Taking a risk with the striped shirt against the Glen Plaid, I know.

Drumohr pure cashmere tie, unlined blazer.
Love some of the outfits so far. Really shows how versatile even knit ties can be paired. Me today. It was still warm so opted for linen shirt. It's obviously a suit so lower half looks the same + brown captoe oxfords.

Still have no grenadine ties, never seen one in a store around here.

Brooks Brothers blue blazer and ecru button down shirt, Roosterknit tie, J Crew pants, Florsheim white buck wingtips and (in the first picture) lunch.......
Stiff competition this week. Good work fellas. I said I'd participate though, so here goes:
Knit tie Friday!
At last a challenge I could take part in after all the World Cup nonsense ( the Danish team are utter crap at the moment..)

Friday calls started early and I never made it to the office. So this is my effort for the challenge, such as it is.
My attire for today...and appropriately chosen for this challenge.
Trousers are yet to be hemmed, thus being casually rolled.

Great challenge, Cleav! Knits are my thing (the majority of my fits here feature knits), but unfortunately I have no opportunity to participate... Looking forward to see the results, though!
