Thanks, man. Yeah, sometimes I like the idea of these loafers more than the loafers themselves. So soft, super comfy, but tough to pair with a lot of pants.
To me it's because loafers are inherently casual ("loafers are for loafing") whereas grey epaulet walts are inherently formal, so there's a stylistic clash. I personally love loafers, but feel they work best when they're "dress loafers" (oxymoron, I know, but think alden shell #8 loafers for BB) or worn with chinos / more casual looks.

Hmm. I don't really see that issue with this particular outfit (unstructured jacket + linen pants). Maybe if there were more formal fabrics and a tie involved.

Changed the undershirt after I saw the picture. Really stepping out of my comfort zone here...

I think it's just the combo. You're rocking grey(ish) pants with a navy jacket, which is a fairly conservative look, with casual suede loafers. That's what I meant when I said something like "dress loafers" would work well here. That, or change the pants to stone / white / something fun-colored to reduce the formality of the rest of the outfit.

But let's be real, I'm just some dude on the internet and you're probably better dressed tahn 99.99% of your peers so who cares?

Why is that? I think it all looks perfect (except the undershirt :p ).

Undershirt is gone...sometimes it takes a picture to see your mistakes. First of all, I'm still getting used to looking down and seeing loafers. Second, I'm wearing no show socks. The whole look just really isn't me. I like giving stuff a shot though and glad you like it. I am very comfortable, so that's nice.

I, for one, think you've done very well outside of your comfort zone.
