Incoming from Vass. I wanted to try something different, with a causal version of a typically sleek model. This is the OEII on the P2 last, with a beveled waist. It is a dark brown shell cordovan with a contrasting light edge trim. I know this will not appeal to some, but this is exactly what I was going for! Great work by Vass as usual.

Beautiful I almost always order either brown or natural colour side of the soles. Makes the shoe unique.

Sorry, are you saying stitch down rubber soles are impossible?
In the case of Vibram lug sole totally I have never seen a machine that can stitch through that.
And at Vass they hand stitch them so even less posibilities. That’t why they don’t do it on Dainite it would look too messy.

Is this one different because the lugs are in the middle?

View attachment 964191 Hi Guys,

Hope all is well! Any thoughts on home repairs for this pair of Vass boots with a Vibram sole that is starting next to come loose?

Is there a special glue and / or special nails I can use?

Thanks in advance!
Just take it to your local cobbler he will do it in quickly and much better than you can do it. Just don’t use nails.

Yep that is a totally different sole as the ends are thin, on the clasic Vibram lug the lugs are all the way to the end.

Ah ok that makes total sense. All my Vass have leather soles, I never noticed their stitching

If you have leather soles, just look at the sole you have that thin line, that’s where the sole was opened and stitched from outside part of the welt through.

Vass does sometimes stitch down the toe of Dainite soles. There are pics in this thread. And I have a pair with the toe stitching.

Yep that 4-5cm front part on the toe it looks really nice, I love the looks, but that is more for looks and it is not channeled, I chose not to do it on my last f-last boots as I walk a lot on the toe part and then they just get destroyed looking un nice.

Yeah I get that, just didn't get that it wasn't for lug soles
