Thanks so much guys. First suede shoes and they're just awesome. Much lower maintenance than leather shoes as well so I'm happy.

Just one question, there's some "fur" around the edge of the shoes. I don't know how to call it but it just looks furrier than the normal nap of suede. Is this normal?

Do you have pics? Most likely you will need a lighter. Bet you didn't realize how much fun you would have with your suede shoes

Very nice, Cleav. I'm sure you've mentioned it before, but who makes these dark brown captoes? And the navy (wool?) socks, now we're at it?

Thanks Kap :nodding:

Shoes are C & J Hallam. Socks, IIRC, are Wolsey

Suede shampoo day! Peal & Co cap-toes are drying. Carmina Snuff Suede dried and brushed. Newly acquired Loake Kemptons. Just brushed - no need to shampoo yet.

Mrj, looking very well there. Something cathartic about that work, particularly with those results :nodding:

Thanks!

I'd never cleaned them before. Ordered the Loakes and cleaning supplies. I was pretty sure I ruined my Carminas and was very upset. Nope. Even the flat areas of the nap that looked scuffed beyond repair are fine.

Leads me to wonder.. why aren't ALL my shoes suede?!
