... aka the day I seriously started questioning some of my life choices.

Like, why for example I decide to try staying up, having drinks and socializing the night away, then go to Pitti the next morning to take photographs for you guys, do a write up, then head back to our place for the joint trunk show we're doing with Miler Menswear, then head to another event in the evening and then back to edit pictures until 3 oclock at night. And then, naturally, starting the next day in the same way.

The kick I got out of pulling it all together spiraled me into believing I am a limitless man. I am not. I am happy though. We were actually able to pull off a successful and well attended trunk show/event in Florence during Pitti, which is no small feat, since there are so many major fashion houses hosting things all over town, competing for people's attention. The biggest success was of course getting so many Styleforum people there ;)

One thing we noticed about the fair itself is that the energy is lower than ever. I mean, there are just as many peacocks, but the general feeling of the place is not what we've gotten used to. Many people I talked to agrres on this, with some claiming it may have to do with the economic situation of the country.

Oh well, I'm not here to get you all depressed about the current state of Italy. I still try to spot some reoccurring things, I guess what you'd call trends. This much I can make out from looking at the pictures below - the tassel loafer is still a thing with the Pitti crowd.

that was fantastic. But the shot of @Butler and your wife at the end is my absolute favorite. Im sure that was like 3am, walking out of the bar after numerous libations, recapping some day-long stories.

Many thanks Erik for the great reporting and all the photos!

What strikes me is how wearable many of the outfits would still be in a more normal setting.

Many, many nice clothes. And some train wrecks too.

Agree with Spoo that the final photo is the best of all. Boy, there's a story in that.

Also: I'm glad I don't have neck and finger tattoos.

I feel as though the "lack of buzz/energy" idea extends to the internet, as well. Pitti feels like an afterthought this year for some reason.

Is everyone at Pitti 5'4" or are they just wearing 63" long ties because its a thing? Besides that quible and the obvious costumes, there are some very wearable looks fo far.

Thanks for the photos, appreciae the service.
