I purchased a tie yesterday at Paul Stuart in Chicago. The buying experience went very well, the salesperson was very polite and helpful. I thought I would mention that since I had read a lot of stories on here about people having a rough time with their sales people. Overall it is a very conservative place and I enjoy that change of pace.

Secondly, is there a way to tell if this particular tie is made by Drakes, I know some of their ties are supposedly made by Drakes?

If the tie is made by Drakes, it will have a small capitalized "MD" on the fabric tag.

kind of hard to screw up a tie sale. net net, i live in nyc and frequent barneys, bergdorfs and used to frequent paul stuart. paul stuart easily has the worst sales people.

They don't really pounce on you until you get to the tailored clothing section. Good luck in trying to look at the stock on your own.
