It turns out I wear 7EE on the AE 65 last.
A size 7 in Meermin will be too tight, 7.5 is too long.
I have a very high instep which makes shoes very tight at the vamp for me.

Does Meermin have different width sizes?

They used to have some model in hiro last G width which is a wider width. Not sure if they still offer them. Try their website

no, this is the Hiro on double rubber sole (dianite type rubber)

This is my first outing with my new Double Monks in the Hiro last but I have noticed quite a lot of wear on the toe already. Does this look normal? Should I visit a cobbler to get toe caps put on before the wear becomes too much.

Time for flush metal toe plates. At that wear rate, you won't have any sole left in the front of your shoes! Metal will prevent any further wear and keep the sole the same thickness.

Other than the fact that they last longer, are there any other benefits to flush metal plates vs the plastic "taps" that are nailed onto the sole?
