Depends entirely on how and when you became rich.

Having an ivory dinner jacket made up. Waffling back and forth on grosgrain facings or not. Worth mentioning this will likely be the jacket I wear to all black tie occasions for the foreseeable future. Thoughts?

Even in winter?

Yeah. I realize it's likely not MC-sanctioned, but I have worn a black tuxedo for a number of years and am looking to change it up. That said, I'll obviously have the standard tux if need be.

I have an idea for an art installation piece. I am sure the MOMA will pick it up. Vintage Appreciation viewed on the mirror shined captoe of a shoe. Awesome, right?

I was hanging out with the owner of the oldest haberdashery in San Francisco. He was saying that he had lunch at one of the classic Financial District restaurants on a Friday and he was the only guy with a tie or a suit or even a jacket in the entire place.

Sam's Grill. And yes it was a Friday, but I met with an old school Trust attorney recently. I wore a jacket he had on a sweater. Rarely am I meeting professional people wearing suits or ties in the Bay Area.

Ha, I knew you'd say Sam's. Such an odd place with all the little partitioned dining rooms.

Just come meet with me some Monday - Thursday. I'll be in a tie :nodding:

I have no doubt, though, that there are far fewer people wearing jacket and tie than there used to be. And many who do are wearing the trendier "slimmer-than-thou" or the boxy "who cares" versions, but every now and then I see a potential StyleFarmer in SF :satisfied:

Just remembered that one of my favorite drape cuts was made by a guy who hates drape tailoring

Guess that means no commission for me :(
