35K might be a little light, but I know the lady that now owns it and she might work with you.

And if you get another Duesenberg, try to get one with coachwork by these guys:

With $20 and a Dusie, a man can get mighty lucky on the border

It is not my car but I beg to differ.

There are a lot of extremely intelligent 10s ( 20-35 years old ) that are very impressed by mint Duesenberg SJs.

If a woman doesn't know what it is then their age wouldn't matter.

I can assure you that Barbara Bush would know what it is. Whether she would be impressed or not would be up to her.

And yes she is a Grandma. But how many women have been both the First lady and the Mother of a President. That's nothing to sneeze at.

Late model MB CLK 350 coupe.

If you don't mind a US-made two-seater you can get a new Pontiac Solstice/Solstice GXP convertible.

A used Boxster is always an option as well.

Excellent suggestion. Nothing screams mid-life crisis like a convertible!

Thrift has gotten the better of me here, but nearly 17 months later, I may be about ready to move on this.

Have significantly dropped the budget on what I'm looking at (for a number of reasons), but am looking at a very respectable mid-life crisis ride. Hope to close the deal in the next few days. Will post updates.

Good news is this: The Prius has phenomenal resale value and the mid-life crisis cars' resale values (read: my purchase cost) suck. I'm going to be able to get a really nice convertible with 25,000 fewer miles than my Prius and keep some money in my pocket after the deal.

Borrowing one for a couple of days. Have narrowed it down to two very similar cars, will make a deal on one in the next couple of days...probably tomorrow.

You should've kept what you had, and gotten a Morgan Plus 8 to drive on nice days

Great looking cars.

I'm actually considering an '01 coupe a few months down the road. How do you like yours so far? Any problems?

Black. Would have preferred BRG, but when shopping for low mileage early model cars, one takes the best condition over the right color.

Ultimately it came down to this one and one in Carnival Red. This one had a few more miles, but was in MUCH better condition.

A few niggles here and there, but the major systems are in great shape. It actually has fewer miles on it than the '08 Prius I just got rid of.
