Your nearly anthropological analysis is quite amusing.....New-Yorkers and new Jersey do really want to differentiate themselves from each other...

Over the bridge? I do think that with today's very high mobility and migration rates ,the difference must be thinner than before..

Of all Brooklyn-based traditionalist jewish sub-groups, I think the Lubavitchers dress the best.

The Lubavitchers are in Crown Heights.

The Satmar crew rules Williamsburg boyee.

Threads are old-school. Like 18th century Polish nobleman old school.

Come correct.

And, yet, not really. The differences loom large as between Manhattan and terra incognito. Some gulfs will never be spanned.

No they buy their "steez" in small shops in Nolita, SoHo, LES, East Village, Williamsburg that charge $150 for pants that look like they are $1.50 from the Salvation Army.

It all looks used and vaguely grimy nonetheless.

Too new looking. It has to look genuine.

I once walked by a hipster girl wearing a t-shirt jersey of my rural NJ town soccer team that must have been 25 years old.
