My vintage Helmut Lang washed jeans. Still get compliments when I wear them.. and they're about 10 years old!

As mentioned, ES has some solid washes. 5EP's Dark Worn wash looks amazing, and realistic/natural. Dior had a few washes that were great in the "not trying to look particularly 'realistic'" category--I saw someone wearing some orange overdye 21cms from a few seasons ago that looked pretty close to what I'd consider the perfect pair of predistressed jeans.

And yeah, if you can drop the cash, 45rpm.

Little known fact, but one of the best ways to get really good washed denim is to send your brand new jeans to me. I wear them for about a year, wash them, and return them to you--ultra-realistic wear! I don't even charge that much.

I like 501's in a light wash. Never owned any raw/dry denim, but from now on I am just going to buy 501's because I can't stand most of the jeans I've tried and I trust the Levi's.
