Would folks in the US be interested in doing a small group buy from Cappelli? The idea would be to get enough guys to place an order for one or two ties to qualify for free shipping and then re-ship using USPS priority. I suspect folks hold off on ordering one tie because of the €25 shipping charge, so this would be a way of reducing shipping cost. The inevitable customs bill would have to be factored into final cost. I'm not fully committed to organizing this, but I am gauging interest. And I mean small group buy, since I'm not going to repackage and ship 70 ties. If there's enough interest maybe this could be done 2-3 times a year.

I contacted him and he said he only had enough material left for an unlined 3 fold.
Is that wool thick enough to support an unlined 3-fold?

Hard to tell... Probably.

I like a tie with a good knot, I have lots of EGC and would more readily pick out a lined tie for the simplicity in how it ties, doesn't need tightening and therefore holds the knot effortlessly all day.

Just an opinion...

He might mean "untipped". When you select "unlined" on the website, you are selecting hand-rolled edges, i.e. untipped.

Helden, I think he's doing that green in Challis, which should be nice. The silk version was request only so you could drop him a line if you really want silk (do it soon and tell him I sent you).

Otherwise, Drake's is selling it now (might be sold out) at 40% off. I'm waiting for the Cappelli version.
