Every time I see this thread title, I'm reminded of Rudyard Kipling's poem:

Thanks for the info. I have Kiplings "If" as a poster, but did not even know about this one.

Well, to me boots in that poem symbolize the sentiment of going insane, which is pretty different to the sentiment of this thread where boots are adored work of art.

Hello stephanaf2003,

Alfred Seargant still exists? How can you take a look at their shoes? I did not find a retail store in Paris or London.

Enjoy the nice chukka boots and best regards

Pascal

They are bankrupt and don't exist anymore unfortunately. IIRC these are the Radwell model in hatch grain which were sold by @Afinepairofshoes some years ago.

I have the non-grain version of them: https://www.styleforum.net/threads/boots-boots-boots-for-boot-guys-only.450433/post-10014472

Didn't they get a full reboot under the name 'Paul Sargeant' a couple years ago? I believe they just purchased all the equipment and continued under another family member's name. They still produce for Herring and their own name, but their collection does appear limited and not at many retailers. Quality etc. should still be the same.

Yes they did but went bust again a few months back and production has stopped for good now:

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
