@gusvs You have phenomenal sport coats and believe me, I don't say that very often.
Seamaster took the words from my mouth, so here's another thumbs-up from Finland (of all places). Gus shows us how much can be accomplished when a discerning customer finds a discerning tailor. Both are rare in 2015, and rarer still when combined.

Can we talk about jacket length for a second? While the Armoury and Liverano guys always look stellar in their L&L gear, I kinda suspect it's a look for non-tall people. Are any of the aforementioned taller than 6 feet/1.8m?

I've seen some tall people in L&L and somehow got the impression that the cut/style of the jacket is not ideal for them. I think it's mainly due to the open quarters, but also button stance.

I'm about 6'6", it's not the best picture to gauge fit though. I don't have a good setup at home to take those awesome fit pics like @gusvs does and I'll be damned if I ask my wife to take a picture of me for "my Internet friends". Come to think of it, she'll probably punch me in the face if I did.

Leaves,in my opinion on you is perfect.
Open quarters:
Ok,are rounded and a bit open, but i don't see the ugly belt buckle;therefore the cut is well calibrated.
In my opinion the Liverano coat its fine on all, talls and shorts.
For the rest is matter of taste; is a look very Italia middle century.

Interesting read. Clearly some of you guys weren't around in the early 60s. High water skinny pant legs is nothing new. Then like now not everyone does them well, as with any detail of clothing.

Italy is a warmer climate than England, therefore, open quarters and shorter coats makes sense.

This coat reminds me of something a cousin further north than Italy would make.

The suit was cut by Galliano Caraceni's tailor shop in Rome,in 1951.
Is the classic Caraceni's style.
High water skinny pants were not in fashion in Italy in 50s and early 60s; Italians back then;
are a horrible modern fashion thing.

The guy in the brown suit from Thr Armoury looks great and so does Leaves. To me, what "was" in Italy or America is not relevant to me much anymore. I have really come to appreciate different styles and their historical references. If something is done well...then it is done well.

Can you actually button the last button at the bottom or is it merely decorative? Liverano's website here indicates that in their house cut the jacket only meets at the middle button. Just hover your mouse over the middle button on the suit for the explanation.

You can button it, but, probably, it will throw off the balance. Except for a paddock coat, you should not button the last button.
