First time I posted pictures of these shoes (which have no style name stamped inside them) @polojock615
mentioned he thought the saddle parts were shark, so I called them "Surfer Eaters".

If they were Kudu (a species of African antelope), I would probably channel H Rider Haggard and call them "Boer Stompers".

They look like the "Polo." Here they are in the 1987 catalog, and one of the options is tan with kudu antelope. (That is style 8254.)

I have a pair of AE shoes with no name, and another with a name that I can't find anywhere in the catalogs. I suspect that they were shoes that AE made for another retailer (Brooks Brothers, for example). Since the model number of your shoes don't match those in a catalog, in addition to them having different soles, I suspect that may be the case with yours. Based on pictures that I've seen of the tan calf/kudu antelope Polos, I'm fairly certain that yours are calf/antelope as well. I think that is an amazing combination, and would love to have a pair like those myself!

I got some Trumans today. Totally not even close to being AE. Other than being made in the USA. Kudu too. And not "let's debate it for eleventy pages" Kudu. Like real actual "from the heart of Africa, we killed Simba then killed his food to make your shoes" Kudu. Basically these but plain-toed.
Solid description right there

Strand is a semi-brogue or half brogue. The 5th Ave is a quarter brogue. So many identifying names!

Interesting. I obviously am no expert on brogues, being a cap toe, plain toe person in general. I do agree that the University is more detailed than the Strand. AE had an awesome selection of shoes in 2013-2104 that I mostly missed out on. I hope they bring some of them back.

I'll be going to flight school! How's Pensacola?

Congrats on your selection, you have an exciting time ahead. I got my wings in '00 (Coast Guard) and had some of my most challenging and exciting times of my personal and professional life in the cockpit. Retired last year, but remember everything about flight school like it was yesterday (except the birth of my daughter while I was in API - I spent more time learning systems than being a dad in those days).

Weather in Pensacola is a balmy 80 deg - lots to do here and be sure that you balance school with working out and having fun.

Wore my green Northlands today with my biz casual outfit; trying to match all of the green nomex I'm surrounded by, dotcha know.

Damn, I need to up my eBay game. Great score!

I just searched under Men's Pants filtering on my waist size, manufacturer, and new. I can easily find longer than what I need and my daughter hems them for me. It's one of the advantages of being short.

I buy slacks the same way. I snagged a badass pair of Incotex tweed slacks in slim fit new and unhemmed last month. I haven't seen a pair like them anywhere.

STILL waiting on natty MacNeils. I was told on 4/3 they only needed their soles and then would "ship this week." #sadface, #needmoreshoes. This is like waiting for my friggin x-ray specs all over again.
