The master piece explorer is really nice and well laid out. However, the side pockets are slightly too small/tight for most sized water bottles. Kind of a frustrating miss on their part

Totally. But he requested specially a 2.5”-3” water bottle for the test…which this one is

Bummer and, yeah, kind of a miss. I feel like 2.5-3" is pretty standard for most water bottles, not just the ones I have. That pocket seems like it requires a pretty skinny bottle. Too bad, but I'll look at the rise. Great texture on that bag, though!

I have the Various convertible tote and a Yeti Hotshot fits just right, it’s 3” wide.

Btw those GRP polos are the perfect weight for California “winter”.
