Based on my communications with Toni I suspect they have their holiday at the moment. He mentioned that if the shoes wouldn't be shipped out before Christmas I could expect a tracking on the 7th of January.

Hmmm its not an issue with shipping its an issue where I got a pair that is not what I ordered from their MTO.

On the brightside, @TLB Mallorca has responded to my emails and apologized in regards to the mix up. I am still waiting for the return labs and the update for my actual order. I will keep you updated

Glad they fixed it for you because they certainly did not fix it for me and just straight up ghosted me with a pair of shoes in a model I specifically said I did not want.

Had an extremely poor experience with these guys after they miscommunicated and totally botched one of the two orders I placed during the MTO event.

Requested they make a 303 single monk in shell cordovan (which I get is arguably is not an option on the site but was very explicitly and clearly requested), they told me it could not be done and could only make 247, but then when I asked to confirm, communicated they could make 303, which obviously is contradictory and confused me. Went on vacation for a week and asked to put the order on hold when I came back since I never confirmed to produce either model.

However, they said it was already in production. Given I never gave the OK and the contradictory info, I tried to clarify which model was being produced. For some reason they kept thinking I was asking what the last was so I had to follow up multiple times to clarify what the model was and another week or two goes by.

After we're finally on the same page, Toni offers me a cancellation but then immediately ships the shoes a few hours later before I can respond. Turns out, they made model 247 which I did not ask for and refuse to honor the refund option or offer any type of solution. It's even hard to get a hold of them to respond to my emails now and I need to follow up 3 times even though they're clearly responding to positive reviews here. The other order was acceptable, but the leather was a different shade than an order with the same leather I placed last year, which was apparently darkened without being communicated to me either...

First time I have dealt with something like this after being a longtime / relatively frequent shoe buyer with a bunch of other brands for the past decade.

I am not in the clear yet as I have yet to receice any updates in regards to my return and the correct pair I n
ordered. Care to share what happend to yours?
Yep, already posted about it a few weeks back. Have to dispute it with my card since they've been completely unresponsive so TBD what my card will say - would make sure you have the paper trail to back up their mess up.

Good news is I have screen shots of my order and pictures of the wrong pair they sent me. I am hoping it will be a different outcome since truly their workmanship is worth the money

Got my MTO! A beautiful Hatch Grain Tan Velasquez Split Toe Derby in 9 narrow.
The fit of the Velasquez seems similar to the Goya, maybe a touch roomier. The instep is great though, not too high.

I added some side by side photos with a pair of Edward Green Dovers in Dark Oak. Note those are 9.5/10C - double narrow, so they'll look a bit thinner in comparison. The fit is pretty similar to the Edward Green 82. Style wise, you can see very minor differences. They look equally refined and finished, perfect detailing.

I'm thrilled with them, although I have two gripes: first, the leather isn't the softest, but that's ok, they'll break in.

The more serious issue is the color. When I order something in Tan, I expect it to be a light, maybe light-medium brown. These are very much a medium dark brown. Compare to the EG in Doak - Dark Oak is a dark brown, and the TLB are maybe one shade lighter. I ordered them in this color because I specifically wanted a lighter brown shoe.

TLB seems to have that issue across all its browns. They're darker than advertised. My first pair is in Vegano brown and they are significantly darker than the EG Dark Oak. I have a pair in brown suede, and they are very, very dark - espresso colored, almost black in certain lights. I wish TLB would lighten its browns to be more similar to what you would expect with other makers.

Anyway, beautiful shoes, impeccable detailing, and I'd say a fabulous value side by side with Edward Green. View attachment 2276617 View attachment 2276619 View attachment 2276621 View attachment 2276623 View attachment 2276625
Beautiful!

I found this post searching for IRL pics of their "tan" hatch grain. I know the colors can vary from the pics on their site and I was hoping it was a bit darker than their "light brown". Thanks for this.

Also, I have the 135 and it's an amazing shoe!

Here's a photo for reference I've been meaning to put up: the boots are tan Conistons, which I consider true Tan color. The hatch grain "tan" Velasquez in the middle are closer to the Dark Oak Edward Green on the right, I think. Still a nice color.

Thanks. I agree it does look closer to the EG color, which in this pic looks like the color of my 206 in brown. Observe:

Good morning everybody,

I have a question concerning the sizes of TLB lasts:

I got the last two pairs of crust-leather oxfords from TLB in UK 7 on the "Alan" mainline last from Skolyx.se to try myself on Partina Art. I tried the "Picasso" last of the Artista-Line in UK 7.5 in the past, which was to large. Hence UK 7 in the "Picasso" last worked. The "Alan" last feels much tighter at the instep, on top of the vamp, and on the heel.

Is the mainline last "Alan" tighter than the "Artista" line lasts?

Enjoy your day and best regards

Pascal

Here are pictures of the crust-leather oxfords on the "Alan" last in UK 7 with the pressure spot directly above the vamp where the tongue, quarters and vamp as upper meet (finger on the pressure point). Otherwse I have plenty of toe space and they are comfortable, wearing them in the office on the carpet.

What do you think? Size up or simply stretch the shoe at the pressure point?

The manufacturing quality is impressive for the price, because the uncolored crust-leather cannot hide any defects and all stichings, fudging, welt etc. are prefectly aligned and well done.

Best regards

Pascal

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
