Random Fashion Thoughts (Part 3: Style farmer strikes back) - our general discussion thread

I love navy as a colour, very easy base colour to wear. Off the top of my head I have 2 x chore jackets, 2 x unstructured sport coats, Orslow New Yorkers, Stan Ray recreation pants, Epaulet sashiko easy pants, nylon hiking pants, Patagonia baggies, Gramicci shorts, numerous sweatshirts, tees...

Yes to both of these, wearing New Yorkers or G pants nearly every day at the moment. Edit - Also currently loving Service Works chef pants - https://www.blacksmith-store.com/collections/service-works/products/copy-of-service-works-classic-chef-pants-navy

I have these, love them. Not made in Ireland anymore but still like supporting an Irish company.

Very prescient 5-year-old piece considering the rise of gorp since and interesting to see brands like And Wander and Snow Peak along with Goldwin, Manastash etc mentioned back in 2017 when they are (still) seriously hip in 2022.

@Epaulet sashiko suit - Doyle jacket and easy pants with linen shirt. Couple of years back, would wear different footwear now.

Some great suggestions already made, I'd add Japan Blue for decent Japanese denim at a more affordable price than most other brands. Also Power House for Japanese-made work wear.

    Orslow

I wear size 3 across the board in Orlsow and the slim fit army pants definitely fit bigger than New Yorkers for instance. Fine with a belt though as others have pointed out.

Also head-scratching at the mould issue with front-loading machines. Never experienced it.

Correct, it isn't a better outcome for anyone bar UPS but the driver couldn't or wouldn't tell me if it would be returned and if so who would pay for it. I'll admit that his attitude didn't help my decision-making but it's the UPS policy of trying to bounce people into making payments on the...

That's exactly what i'm saying but I'm happy to pay the shipping (and lose the tee) to avoid 18E losing out. I'm assuming that if and when UPS ship it back that 18E CS will be in touch and we can work it out. Really don't want a small business be the losers here.

Had a UPS guy arrive at my door in Ireland looking for €38 duty on a $26 dollar tee shirt. No text or email beforehand like every other carrier does. I laughed and told him I didn't want it. Hope it has made it's way back by now but it's probably sitting in the UPS depot in Dublin. No blame...

Should I or shouldn't I buy... (clothing item)?

The Patagonia Retro X is a stone cold classic, as DWW said it's akin to Levis 501s. No Uniqlo fleece even a WM collab comes anywhere near it. There are a million versions by almost every brand with the contrast pocket etc but they are all essentially inspired by the Retro X.
