Any suggestions for EG-esque bucket or sun hats for those with large heads? I usually wear a 7 3/4 (~62 cm) in fitted hats, which puts me in XL/XXL territory. Sadly, it seems like most EG hats would be too small for me. I have a military-style boonie that works decently, but maybe someone has some insight on other options.

I'm 7 3/4th (62 cm) and three size L EG buckets I've had from prior seasons fit just fine. Wool, cotton, and I think nyco. My chambray one will get a lot more milage this summer.

Just received my first buy of the season—a Popover in Dark Navy Big Floral Sheeting. I sized down from my usual size, medium, to a small. The fabric is pretty sick too—don't sleep on this.

I’m in the same bucket. Usually end up using a hat stretcher to get larges to fit, but at the end of the day the bills (or whatever you call the bill in a bucket hat) looks a bit small and out of proportion. Bucket hats in fabrics with more give could allow for stretching the “bills” too.

How's the fit?

Really good—sizing down still retains the long, blousy fit without looking oversized. A medium looks and feels like a tent on me—almost like EG's long shirt.

I'm 5'11, 155lbs with a 38" chest for reference. The fit looks very similar to Indigo & Cotton's model who is 5'11, 175lbs (and also went with a small):

If I were to go TTS, the fit would look more like Haven's model (5'11, 150lbs):

It kinda depends on your shoulder width.. if you’re a slim build sizing down helps, but if you have broad shoulders for your height sizing down may be a bit tight at the shoulders.

I went with tts but I’m going to have to shorten it by an inch and a half..

Huh, I'm just a hair under 6' and have a similar build as described above, but I took an L in the BD popovers from SS17 because I liked the slightly looser fit. My only complaint about that shirt is its length (by about an inch or so). The fit doesn't look nearly as awful as on that Haven model (e.g. the sleeves don't look ****** like that).

Are they cut that much bigger this season? Measurements on different sites are all over the place.

Orslow makes a size 2 I think
Hmm I'll have to look deeper into that, their USN hat looks really nice, thanks for the lead.

Thanks! That's awesome to hear.

Thanks for your input. I'll definitely keep the give of the fabric in mind in my search.

Sorry to burst your bubble but orSlow only makes size 0 and 1 in hats.
Having said that. The size 1 in USN hat is pretty big. So i would give it a go if you haven't already tried.

Well I'll be darned. The medium does look like it could work though, based on the measurements I've seen, so there's that. Thanks for the tip, I definitely just spent a good 10 minutes trying to find a size 2 in vain haha
