I do not have any photos unfortunately, but bought on amazon.
What made me question the pair above is there is no curve above the heel, it goes straight up.
On all my other 1000 mile originals there is a definitive curve.
What a can judge is that this a common trait when dealing with fakes.

The real deal:

I would be surprised if they were outright fakes. While I have ordered I think 5 pairs 1000 Mile variants over the past decade or so from Amazon, I think every one of them were at least fulfilled by Amazon. Actually just ordered another pair that arrived yesterday with the Eldons. Horween Utica leather which rules for the stupid low price of $89.99. However, as often is the case, the price delta between sizes was over $200 between an 11 and 11.5. All were not even in a shadow of a doubt fake. Were the pair you just added perhaps not made from CXL and maybe a special edition? I agree that the heel not curving is somewhat strange, but just wondering considering the fairly large number special editions not made with CXL might be different.

That said, over the years, I have heard from time to time about factory 2nds being pawned off as A-stock. Were the ones you ordered fulfilled by Amazon? Really curious to find out if they are indeed fake. Of all the 1000 Miles, no doubt the original would be the one to be bootlegged. Just kinda figured they might not be eponymous enough to fake, but certainly not a subject I have thought about too much.

Does anyone know if older 1000 mile boots (from pre 2014), particularly the special edition shell makeups, size differently than newer 1000 mile boots from this year, ie the 135LTD makeup?

I just bought a pair of 1000 miles off Amazon and I sent them back. They were either fake or REALLY poorly made. It was my first pair of 1000 miles so it was kind of hard to judge. Anyways I have a pair of the 1940's coming from Zappos now.

Wore my all black 1000 miles through NYC and the leather soles are done. Any recommendations on the type of sole I should get? Also, any cobbler's any of you guys recommend in the NYC area?

Appreciate you. How much should I expect a resoling to cost? I've never resoled a shoe, as the 1000 mile is my first pair of legitimate boots.

You'd have to check with each cobbler. My Red Wing resoles would cost around $175 USD.

Wolverine 1000 Miles on the move. Swapped out round laces which I prefer. My cobbler installed lug sole protectors.

Try Chelsea Cobbler on 7th Ave. I had them put a thin Vibram outsole on my 1000 mile boots when I first got them to protect against the NYC streets. They did a great job and the boots are holding up just fine after two winters in the city. I'm sure they can also replace the leather sole if that's what you need. If it were me, I'd just replace it with leather again, and then add the Vibram. You still get the benefits of the leather in terms of appearance and comfort, but the rubber adds a little more resistance to the elements.

I appreciate it. A part of me wants to turn these into a winter boot. So a heftier sole would be necessary for traction. Somewhat of a sleek combat boot look.
