The defect you are referring to is called edge paint, which has delaminated from the leather. Its done as a detail on high end leather goods to finish the edges on cut leather. Its not uncommon for edge painting to fail in some form or fashion, even on really high end brands. That said, surface preparation, proper heat/cure time, and application can make a difference in adhesion. The quality and type of edge paint being used can also make a BIG difference. While it doesn't hurt to ask about return/exchange/credit, any competent leather worker can color match and apply edge painting where the existing failed. This would be a pretty cheap job fwiw, and you get to keep your wallet which is of sentimental value.
Thanks!

hello, i found this visvim virgil boots ss 18 dk brown horsehide on grailed, is this authentic? but if I check on the internet for SS 18 the type of Vibram sole is different. and the color of the iron for the shoelace holes should also not be gold. The seller is in Taiwan and informed that he bought at the Visvim store and was signed by the store staff in the box, any suggestion?

I am sorta curious what comes on the box when you buy from the web store. If you actually buy shoes from a brick and mortar, your SA actually signs the box.

Interesting — I’ve bought both from the web store and from exposition. Never had a signature.

Maybe it's a JP specific thing? I've only bought ICT shoes in the US stores and those don't follow the same process (even in JP)

so what's the latest on this visvim boot debate?
everything visvim has gone up in price and not surprisingly, their appeal (including to me) has only gone up.
are they worth buying over vibergs?

I agree it runs huge. I am 180cm / 5'11" 160lbs and went with a 2 after trying on both the 2 and 3. I generally wear 3 in visvim tops.

Chest/shoulder wise it's so big it doesn't matter. But for me the 3 sleeves and overall length were slightly too long. It ended below my knees with the 3 and I wanted mid-low thigh as seen in the lookbook images. I wouldn't worry if you're 3-4 though. I could have easily rocked the 3 and the intent is to be massive IMO.

I did end up paying full price and then got hit with import duties which sucked. It sold out fast in the Japan store. Extortionate pricing for a shell... but it is exactly what I was looking for ever since missing the six-five goretex dmgd pre order (?) years ago.

I have an admiral IT coat in 5 and it runs HUGE and a Visvim shirt that's a 4 and it's tight as ****.
Different seasons, but the sizing across different years is pretty confusing.

Has anyone had a dyed piece have the Giza or size tag end up getting dyed too? I assume this has happened with shoes, but not sure if the same for clothes?

I got some ICT Camus Pants that both tags are dyed that not sure if someone has tried to use dylon on them or something similar?
