The royal oxford is a bit dressier.

What is the difference exactly?

+1. For example, if you are in the Los Angeles area, Fit Wel Custom Tailors would be able to make oxford shirts with any collar you want, and they have lots of colors to choose from.

Two other options - Barba Napoli Green Label from shopthefinest.com (skinny fit, perfect for you) or BB Black Fleece straight collar pinpoint oxfords (in NYC, at least). Both in the $120 range, but good shirts.

Oxford is a pretty heavy and, therefore, warm cloth. If you get warm easily, it's not a great cloth to wear everywhere. OTOH, if you get cold easily, there's nothing better.

It's a minor point, but non-button-down is best when wearing a tie, but the collars tend to lay unevenly if you wear non-button-down without a tie.

I don't think they exist. If you want a non button down try another fabric style. let us know if you find any though, I would be interested to see one.

I have one from Lands End custom. Seemed like a good idea at the time but I rarely wear it. No reason not to, I just don't.
