Roadkill. From 2020.

On Amazon or Netflix, can't recall.

British political intrigue starring Hugh Laurie. 4 full-hour episodes, was put on over here by Masterpiece.

Reminiscent of House of Cards, in particular the original English series. Actually, case could be made that a good bit is a rip off. Still, good and Hugh. Wish he'd kept his shirt on in the bedroom scenes, though.

Putting that on my list. I really liked him in The Night Manager.

Undeniably a smart choice from an overall series success standpoint, but Billions is such a shlocky, camp leaning show it's almost hard to fathom it started off as something approximating prestige. A shame given how many really excellent actors they have cast.

That they are building out a Billions (Millions?! Trillions?!?!?!) makes me want somebody to ready the nukes...

Just wrapped up a holiday weekend binge of Slow Horses (both seasons), now I need something to hold me over….. give me some good espionage thrillers, please.

Definitely not in the same league as Slow Horses, but I thought The Night Agent and The Recruit were entertaining. I'm a couple of episodes in on Who Is Erin Carter?, and it's interesting, though not really espionage. Oh yeah, if you're OK with a bit of a sci fi twist, In From The Cold is entertaining, though it ended on a cliffhanger and I'm pretty sure it's canceled.

I've been thinking a lot about the Roman Empire by watching Domina S2. Not quite as good as S1 and it ended on a weird scene with Tiberius. Not sure if there's going to be a S3 since the main characters are stating to age out and die.

Nice to see Claire Forlani still getting some work...

I watched the first couple seasons of the Medici shows and thought they were pretty good.
Shot on location, so visually awesome.

Ngl, even when they tried to age her, she still looked pretty good. The actress playing Livia looked great too.

Night Agent and Recruit (also The Bureau, JK, its on AMC +..... ) added to various queues.

Also realized I never finished The Diplomat (it fell off my "continue watching" list for some reason) so going back to finish that.

I almost gave up on Billions a billion times over the years. Had to remind myself it was essentially a comic book. It could be good and it could be funny.

What killed me were the Sorkin-esque pop culture references that every character, young, old black, white, etc, etc 'got' immediately and riffed on... meanwhile, I'm googling on my phone: "oh, he was the bass player in Iron Butterfly... NOW I get it."

I watched about 2 or 3 episodes of Billions and couldn't stomach it. The writing was awful and the characters were rote and one dimensional. I'm shocked it lasted 2 (3?) seasons.

Lol, lasted for 7 seasons.

That's what really annoyed me about the show. Every... single.... character spoke exactly the same with some random reference in every other sentence. Even the guys who are dumb AF would make these references.
