Inspired by iammatt's squab with peas -- duck breast with peas, bacon and sliced almonds.

The package comes with 2 pieces; so I cooked the other one last night.

Duck breast with wilted arugula and dolce-forte sauce.

Spelt spaghetti with finely chopped fresh oregano, rosemary and lemon thyme, garlic and S&P with crumbled goat feta, chopped sun dried toms and kalamata olives dusted with parmesan. And served with a rocket and cos salad.

Great to have a herb garden again.

Was given a little surprise to start off Drinksmas last night. The chef at our favorite venue knew we were coming and had a four course menu for four (as he called it) ready to roll. Opened with caviar (he'd just gotten NYE's order in), then a really nice foie presentation, but the entree was the killer. We each were given a nice sized bowl of pappardelle he'd just made, sauced in an eggy, buttery noodle coating way and covered in black truffles. Dessert was for everyone else and I didn't eat mine or pay attention as I just don't do dessert.

Nice way to start off Drinksmas! Some standard Veuve with caviar, a vidal icewine with the foie, and a nice funky WA Syrah to go with the pasta.

I'm still full.
