I guess I'm watching the show wrong? Been purposefully trying to steer clear of too much analysis of the show or episodes (aka no reddit so far).
The hosts experience memory differently than humans: very vivid, as if actually reliving events. Dolores is most likely wandering the countryside solo, reflecting upon her life's greatest hits, the way they bear upon her present. Her different outfits or changes in appearance signal a kind of strobing in and out of these memories.
I liked a lot about the multiple timelines theory but couldn't get past one major issue: if we were seeing Dolores in multiple timelines 30+ years apart, that's one long existential crisis she's having.
It looks like this has been addressed (at least partially) by establishing that she is in fact glitching or re-living past events.
Her burgeoning consciousness has affected William in the old timeline, however. So either she has been developing sentience for over 30 years or there is some Hodor-like phenomenon with future circumstances drastically changing past events. I'm wondering if she wasn't put on ice for a while after killing Arnold.

So the MiB identity confirmed, Wyatt confirmed, multiple timeline theory confirmed, and Ford not letting the board push him out without a fight (sort of). Great first season.

I liked the show overall. but . . .
1. I thought they cheaped out with the whole gotta kill "doG" or the creator to become conscious. Not even that inventive a use of the storyline compared to something like "His dark materials"
2. I think it would be cool if Ford did use a host of himself and it makes a lot of sense. The reason to doubt it is TV economics. You can get a big time movie actor to do a season appearance (Sean Bean) but normally not more than one. These epic series 8-12 episode seasons take about the same amount of time commitment as a movie.
I've got some other concerns about S2, but hope to be pleasantly surprised.
