It was very clear in my head when I wrote it after a few glasses of wine last night. :) To me, it means casual, loose fitting clothing in bright, saturated colors and patterns (batik, floral, paisleys even) that look like they've been collected and selected haphazardly, and worn hard. Long unkempt hair optional.

Some elements of the style are definitely part of the SW&D look right now. @FrankCowperwood's floral denim and awesome oversized hat from earlier this summer come to mind. Frank could do a pretty great modern hippie fit as well.

Well that could work in a photo, but the effect in real life would be spoiled by the fact that I'm constantly shouting "Cut your hair!" at people.

These are the unlined alden snuff suede (I have them in brown as well). Very, very comfortable.
