I think the suede looks fine here.

I'm sorry, but while you are correct to point out that suede is more casual than calf, nonetheless, oxfords are not meant for casual fits and definitely not meant for jeans.

But which element is the trump? The material or the lacing? In terms of the visual impression, I suspect the material is the dominant element.

Just because a suede chukka would have been a better boot for that fit doesn't mean I object to what was worn. Sometimes good enough is just that.

Just to mess you up, the 3rd element is color.

Captoe unbrogued light colored suede shoes are a bit of a curious beast - the style skews formal, the materials and color do not.

I have Carmina austerity brogue oxfords in snuff suede with pinked edging that I am comfortable wearing with jeans, but I am admittedly a bit of a heathen when it comes to oxfords and jeans. The unbrogued captoe is a bit out of my comfort zone for such a light colored suede

Testing the waters of posting fit pics again. No tripod for outdoor shots with me, and my camera does not like the nasty lighting inside the office.

@DonCologne I wish my summer was cool enough to even wear long sleeves shirts... unfortunately is not... :(
I like your outfit today! The whole thing!

Here are a couple of mine from previous days:

This first one is from a cloudy cooler day so I toned it down with the colors haha...

This second fit is from a much warmer day, sunny and all... I had to used this blended cotton-linen pants in order to not overheat... haha...

@FrankCowperwood I like those green pants, I have to pick a pair just like that tomorrow from the seamstress (she is adjusting the length a little). I have a navy (with grey cuffs) jacket similar to that you have... I like that type of cut for casual jackets. I am waiting for the sales to start to buy a yellow/mustard color jacket that -if I can get in my size- will show you next fall hopefully.

Nice combo! :)
