Your looks are usually quite good, but I have to ask, are you aware that cardigans are NOT the only clothing item you can wear over a shirt? There are items like peacoats, toggle coats, blazers, sweaters (many different types), knitted jackets, etc, etc. :)

Yes I am aware of that. I wear so many sweaters because I work in a climate controlled lab and it is 20°C every day all day and cardigans and sweater fit under my lab coat and heavier things like you mentioned do not.

^ Purple velvet jacket is pimp, but something about the whole thing feels a little off to me. I can't decide if it is the t-shirt, or whether the shoulders on your jacket are just too wide, particularly with your fairly tapered/slim trousers and shoes.

I'm not sure about the t-shirt either, the white really jumps out at you instead of the velvet. I have a blue navy blue t-shirt that I thought might work better.

A white t-shirt with a rich-coloured velvet jacket (and it looks like an okay fitting jacket BTW - I have nothing against it - but it's hard to tell) is a bad-enough choice to begin with, but a v-necked and thin white t-shirt with such a jacket is even worse. I know you're in a hot climate but you need something that goes further up the neckline and preferably has some interest in itself (buttons and a collar, or a turtle-neck or even a more interesting t-shirt - though the latter wouldn't be my choice). I can't really see the trousers or the boots well enough to say anything about them either way.

Just catching up after a couple days

Excellent outfits, stylish and comfortable.
I really like both of the cardigans.
Can I ask where you got them?

I love cardigans because they are just so comfortable and convenient.

Flowered lapels and hockey games. Mad sack on ya, NYR.

Where the hell is the "Approved!" stamp when I need it. Looks awesome man.

This is great.

I don't understand all the rage about this look. The henley is bunching at the nipples and generally looks sloppy. I also think those sunglasses look a bit odd on your face. I'm not trying to be an ass, I think it's an alright fit: pants and shoes look great. I'm just not a fan of what's going on with the shirt.

Yes.

I was made to wear a velvet jacket on Sundays for church when I was about 8. It wasn't so much 'pimp' as more 'Little Lord Fauntleroy'. Hated the thing and have never had the desire to wear a velvet jacket since.

Cross posted from the The official thrift/discount store bragging thread.

I have been out shopping for a replacement daily driver and stopped in at a small father and son dealer to look at a car. While I was sitting in one looking it over, the guy, of some eastern European or middle eastern descent (based on his accent and business card) asked me out of the blue if I was Italian. Maybe he was just being a good salesman but my heart skipped a beat as that has only happened in real life one other time, decades ago on a trip to Belgium.

I asked him what made him think so and he said it was the way that I was dressed. I don't have a fit pic but I was wearing nothing but thrifted clothing.

Brown Harris Tweed SC.
Kirkland (Costco house brand) OCBD shirt, white w/red check.
Polo khaki chinos
AE "Maxfield" tasseled loafers.

Thanks for the help guys.
