Trying out the western look. I bought the boots from Allens in 2016 and maybe wore them twice. I am an idiot. They are so comfortable and look so cool.

Nice jacket, but I don't understand this need to casualize classic wear. I would use a bomber or another casual jacket instead. Or, reversely, use the jacket with tailored trousers and classic footwear.

Thanks.

I think it's about trying to create tension between casual and formal which can be interesting (see Aaron Levine's Instagram - he's great at it). I'm experimenting and I admit that I might not have hit the target.

For me personally, I find people dress so casually now, odd jackets in even a casual fabric/pattern are seen as overly dressy by most people. The few times I've worn an odd jacket to work I get asked if I'm going to an interview at lunch. It depends on what crowd you hang out with (I interact with a lot of people in their 20s & 30s) and where you work, but if I want to get any kind of wear out of odd jackets without seeming like I'm grossly overdressed, I often need to casualize the look as much as possible.

With all due respect, it's the wrong approach: wear what you like and what you feel comfortable with. Your style is an expression of your personality.

Each to his own. My style is also naturally more casual than the typical SF poster in this thread, but IMO expressing your personality and dressing appropriately for your environment aren't mutually exclusive. I'm not uncomfortable wearing a sport coat with jeans, a tuxedo, board shorts, etc...but those outfits are not interchangeable for all environments.
