Picked these up a few weeks back on ebay. Wanted some C&J but didn’t want to spend that amount of coin at the moment. Dont know much about them but quality seems to be quite nice.
Any info on these?

Under the "less is more" theory, you could try the spot fix approach. I think you will be unhappy with the results, but it is worth a try. Then you will likely end up stripping the entire shoe and working your way back.

I don’t know if my situation is similar enough. But, I had a pair of Shell Stuart Macquire and they had weird spots where the color looked to be wearing off. It wasn’t normal Shell fade. I decided to try some renomat to remove years of gunk and they were really splotchy. I ended up using Feibings Cordovan dye (the color not the material) and was able to achieve a pretty uniform color. Obviously stripping CG is a little different and Shell reacts differently than calf, but it worked pretty well for me — especially for a pair that was not a rare or wildly special pair.

Many on here know Russel and he has an amazing collection. He also wears multiple pairs in a day and takes spectacular pictures. I didn’t do that today, but I did decide to do a shoe change today. Since it is Wingtip Wednesday and it’s raining here in the mid-south, my Florsheim Golden Harvest with the vibram sole was a great option. I also wanted to wear one of my favorite PTB. So, also pictured here is my 1968 Florsheim 93606.

#wingtipwednesday

These 93602s were really trashed but I bought for a great price. I turned them over to Pablo Hadarits who rebuilt with Vibram 430 soles.

430 is a mini lug that provides decent traction and still soft when walking on them. My intention was to use these as rain shoes given the condition of the uppers.

Award winning patina artist Alberto Suastez then did his thing. Several ladies at the supermarket complimented the shoes.

Happy wingtip Wednesday, everyone.

Why do I get the feeling you wear great shoes and then walk the supermarket isle trolling for ladies?

That is absolutely false.

This is my story and I'm sticking to it.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
