True. If you're the typical kid/adolescent reader, you probably read for a few years and move on.
I guess I’m just being a scold. Must be the weather. I mean if folks want “Flame on!” alien sex, then who am I to complain? :p

I would actually be pretty curious to see the age breakdown of modern comic-book buyers. Are they still kids in canvas sneakers with a slingshot in their back pockets stopping by the corner newsstand for the latest Fantastic Four along with a Wacky Pack of gum and trading cards? Or is it that guy 20 years later, living in mom's basement with a job stocking shelves at night? Or some third thing?

If it turns out that the demographic is skewing older than it used to, then the super weird alien-sex stuff makes a lot of sense, as it is something new/different and also sort of hot in a weird way.

I asked that question here earlier. As a kid in the 70s we rode our bikes to the various pharmacies every Wednesday to get the new issues. With sling shots, baseball cards and Wacky Packages as mentioned!

@Jr Mouse mentioned folks read digital editions now. I haven’t seen a comic book in the wild in ages.

Me either. A few years ago our local Barnes & Noble had a comic book section, that eventually became a rotating stand-up magazine rack with a few titles, then nothing. The manga section is huge, though.

It’s skewing older for sure. Not nearly as many kids as there used to be. Thing is the odd ball weird stuff has always been around. That’s why I brought up Silver Age Superhorse and Thanos wanting to hook up with Death.

I read most of mine on Kindle- you can get full omnibuses (collecting maybe 20-30 comics) for a fraction of the hardcover (or individually collected comic) price

I couldn’t do b/w comics. The iPad experience isn’t bad if you have newer hardware with a good screen.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
